Revision Joint Replacement

Do you have a total hip or knee replacement that may require revision?

Some joint replacements require revision, or an additional surgery to correct them. This can be for many reasons, including wear, loosening or trauma/fracture. Some patients may have had a reaction to wear particles from a joint replacement. This is common, in particular with Metal-on-Metal (MoM) hip replacements.

While primary hip and knee replacements are able to be performed by most trained orthopaedic surgeons, revision procedures are usually best performed by a joint replacement specialist who has specific training in these types of procedures. They can be quite complex and require techniques outside of the scope of most surgeon training programs.

Dr. Harris has completed a fellowship in Total Joint Replacement and Adult Reconstruction. This provides him with particular training in revision total joint replacement. If you feel you may have a total hip replacement or knee replacement that requires revision, please contact us to arrange for an evaluation.
